What is identity verification
Identity verification, or KYC — Know Your Customer, is a set of practices designed to protect cryptocurrency services from corruption, money laundering, terrorist financing and international sanctions evasion and their customers from dishonest users. The verification procedure helps to:
- Check the accuracy of the provided data, which helps the service to ensure the platform’s security and safety for customers;
- Verify whether transactions and transfers are legitimate;
- Asses risks related to the possible use of the platform for money laundering.
The verification procedure may include not only identity verification, but also confirmation of residential address and source of funds. These measures decrease risks and enhance the safety of the project.
Is it mandatory to pass verification
Yes, it is. Identity check is a standard procedure of all custodial crypto services. Since Wallet is a custodial service that operates in accordance with regulatory requirements, we need to conduct customer identity verification as a part of our customer due diligence measures.
Why do I need to pass verification
Verification provides more opportunities for secure service, but also has a number of advantages for users. For instance, verified KYC allows you to:
1. Restore Wallet account, if earlier you lost access to your Telegram for some reason. Read more here.
2. Get a “Trusted Merchant” status. Read more about the status and its benefits here.
3. Increase limits for transactions performed in Wallet. Continue reading to learn more.
What are verification levels
Verification levels increase the available limits for operations in Wallet. Depending on the verification level, there are special daily and monthly limits on:
- incoming transactions; deposits;
- purchases using a bank card;
- purchases on the P2P Market.
These limits are approximate and depend on local exchange rates. They may vary for some countries.
You can view the limits and increase your verification level in the Settings > Identification Level section.
What are the differences between verification levels
The main difference is the limits for transactions available in Wallet. In some cases, you may need to move to a higher verification level. Let’s examine each level in more details:
Basic level:
Basic level does not require identity document submissions. You just need to indicate the following data:
- Full name;
- Date of birth;
- Phone number.
Basic level is mandatory for all Wallet users.
Extended level:
Extended level gives you the access to higher limits and to the P2P Market purchases. For this level, you need to pass verification in two steps:
- Upload an identity document;
- Pass a liveness-detection check.
If your document is not accepted, and you need to re-upload, try following recommendations from this article.
Advanced level:
Advanced level allows you to use Wallet without any limits. To pass Advanced verification, you need to:
- Upload an identity document;
- Upload a document confirming your residential address;
- Pass a liveness-detection check.
If earlier you passed Extended verification, you do not need to upload an identity document. You can check the list of acceptable documents here.
I want to pass verification (KYC), but don’t see such option in my Wallet
First, you will need to provide us with basic information about yourself. This includes your full name, date of birth, country of residence and phone number.
After that, the system will automatically request your verification when performing a transaction or exceeding limits.

How to pass verification
Upgrade your verification level effortlessly at any time to unlock enhanced features on your account. Simply access Wallet settings via the three-dots button located in the upper-right corner, then select “Identification Level”.
Before commencing the verification process, explore the available verification levels to choose the one best suited to your requirements. To initiate the upgrade, tap on “Unlock higher limits” → “Get this level” → “Continue”.
You have the flexibility to verify your identity using a passport, driver's license, resident's permit, or ID card.
Should you encounter a prompt for identity verification during depositing or withdrawing, simply click the designated button in the chat with Wallet. This will seamlessly direct you to the verification page, where you can upload the necessary documents.
What documents are acceptable as a proof of address
To verify your residential address, please provide a document that is dated within the last 3 months and displays your full name along with your current address. You have the option to upload one of the following:
- Utility bill for gas, electricity, water, internet, etc. linked to the property
- Bank statement for a debit or credit card
- Current lease agreement with signatures of the landlord and the tenant
- Tax invoice or a certificate of residence issued by the state from a recognized public authority
- Residence permit that is valid for 1 year or longer
Important: you cannot use the same document to verify your identity and place of residence. For example, if you verified your identity with a passport issued in a specific country, you can no longer use this same passport to confirm your residential address. Kindly use any other document for Proof of Address from the acceptable list.
