Wallet, where to start

What is Wallet

Wallet is a mini app in Telegram that facilitates the exchange of supported cryptocurrencies, enables deposits, withdrawals, transfers and storage of supported cryptocurrencies, and allows trading on a peer-to-peer matching service (P2P Market).

Wallet is a fast and convenient service to operate with cryptocurrencies.

With Wallet, you can buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrency, as well as send TON, USDT, NOT, DOGS, HMSTR, and X directly via Telegram chats in a matter of seconds. We do not take any fees for transfers made between Telegram users.

If you want to buy or sell cryptocurrency at your own price, then please visit our P2P Market.

How can I create a Wallet account

It is super easy to register with Wallet. You just need to launch the mini app and follow the instructions on the screen which will prompt you to complete identification and subsequent verification steps. Once the registration is complete, Wallet will generate blockchain addresses for supported cryptocurrencies and hold the private keys for you. Blockchain addresses are generated only once, and can not be re-generated again

To top up your Wallet account, you can check the blockchain address generated for you by Wallet in the main menu using Add Crypto > External Wallet and choosing the network. After this, you will see the associated blockchain address and QR code.

Can I generate a new wallet address

You cannot change your blockchain address after registering with Wallet.

I already have a different wallet. How can I add it to Wallet

Wallet is a custodial service, meaning it securely holds your private keys to ensure the protection of your cryptocurrencies. Therefore, you can neither add another blockchain address to Wallet nor link your Wallet account to other services.

However, if you create a non-custodial TON blockchain address in TON Space, you can import it into other web3 applications, such as Tonkeeper. More information about TON Space can be found here.

What is the difference between Wallet and TON Space

Wallet and TON Space are two different service providers.

TON Space is a third-party service and is subject to its own terms and conditions

Wallet is not responsible for any actions, transactions, or issues that may arise from your use of TON Space, and vice-versa.

Here are the main differences between Wallet and TON Space:

Wallet is a custodial service, meaning it securely holds your private keys to ensure the protection of your cryptocurrencies. Examples of custodial services include centralized or private exchanges. This enables the service to offer unique features such as swaps, commission-free off-chain transfers, promotions, security settings, and more.

TON Space is an application which facilitates the creation of a non-custodial wallet on the TON blockchain and provides you with an interface to access this wallet and other third-party functionalities of the TON ecosystem. All transactions completed through TON Space require network fees, are recorded on-chain and are irreversible by nature.

A non-custodial wallet grants users full control over their crypto assets, stored on their blockchain address. Only users have control over the private keys. Access to and control of a non-custodial wallet via its seed-phrase are the main features of using non-custodial wallets. This provides users with greater control over the safety of their crypto assets, but in turn greater responsibility as well.

With Wallet, you can easily purchase cryptocurrencies by card, access the P2P Market and swap cryptocurrencies, such as TON, USDT and BTC.

TON Space gives you the opportunity to send, receive and swap any Jettons and NFTs minted on the TON blockchain, plus options to connect to decentralized applications (DApps).

You can read about TON Space and how to use it here.

How can I change the language and the local currency in Wallet

You can change the language via Settings in the upper right corner > Wallet Language.

You can also change the local currency used for the fiat equivalent of cryptocurrency via Settings > Default Currency.

Note: Wallet does not handle fiat-related services or hold any fiat money on behalf of users. Instead, Wallet displays users’ cryptocurrency balances and transaction amounts in fiat currency for convenience only.

How can I add Wallet to the Telegram settings and the attachment menu

Wallet will prompt you to add the application to the Telegram menu when you first launch it.

If you haven’t added it yet, you can always do so via Settings by tapping on the three dots in the upper right corner. Tap “Add Shortcut” so that the app is available via the attachment menu (paperclip icon in the message field) and in your Telegram settings.

All done! Now you can easily and quickly send TON, USDT, NOT, DOGS, HMSTR, and X to your contacts in Telegram. Wallet also provides you with the option of exchanging one type of coin to another or buying cryptocurrency with your bank card.

If you wish to buy cryptocurrency without any fees or sell it at your own price, then you can visit the P2P Market. There you can browse listings from other users and choose the most convenient payment method for you.

You can read the following article to find out more about applicable fees, rates and limits.

Where can I see my balance and transaction history

You can check your balance in Wallet on the main screen of the app. The total balance of all your assets is displayed at the top of the screen. The balance of an individual cryptocurrency can be seen by tapping on the respective asset.

Your account's Transaction history is available at the bottom of the main screen.

Why can't I see some operations I've performed in Wallet in the blockchain

Internal transfers through Telegram between Wallet users are not recorded in the blockchain, as they are recorded off-chain and are managed in Wallet itself. That is why you can send and receive cryptocurrencies instantly and without any fees to your Telegram contacts. Conversely, external transactions can be seen in the blockchain but are subject to fees.

Does Wallet support NFTs or other tokens

Wallet doesn't support NFTs or all jettons yet. Therefore, if you send one to your Wallet account, it will not appear there. Wallet only supports a select number of cryptocurrencies. You can read more on NFTs/Jettons in Wallet here.

To store other TON jettons and NFTs, you can create or add an existing noncustodial TON wallet in TON Space.

Wallet doesn't work on my device, what is the issue

Make sure your device meets the required system specifications, and that both your operating system and Telegram are up-to-date.

Wallet may not open on devices with OS versions older than iOS 14 and Android 9. Additionally, Wallet does not support unofficial third-party or Linux-based Telegram clients.

My device meets the necessary system requirements, and Telegram is updated to the latest version, but the problem remains, what should I do?

If the issue persists, try clearing the WebView cache:

  • On an Android device, go to the device's application settings and click on Android System WebView > 'Clear cache'.
  • On an iOS device, open Telegram and tap 'Settings' 10 times in the lower right corner, then select 'Clear Web View Cache'.

If the recommendations above do not resolve the issue, please contact us. Kindly provide the model and OS version of your device, along with the Telegram and WebView versions.

I want to unsubscribe from Wallet notifications, how can I do it

You can disable notifications in your Wallet settings. Tap the setting icon in the app's main menu > Notifications. There, you can select the notifications that you wish to unsubscribe from. Notifications are divided into 5 main types:

  • Product Updates

You can personalize the notifications in order to receive only selected updates.
